NJ Veterinarian Michael Anthony ID’d As Homicide Victim Found Dead Outside Cherry Hill Home

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — The death of Veterinarian, Michael Joseph Anthony, who was found unresponsive outside a home in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey, is under investigation as a homicide, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police were dispatched to 110 Sharrowvale Road in the Barclay neighborhood at 7:09 a.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Anthony outside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the location.

Details regarding Anthony’s cause of death have not been disclosed by investigators.

Local residents were alerted by screams and a significant police presence early in the morning.

“It was about 7 o’clock, we heard some screams. And then I ran outside and, unfortunately, I saw someone on the ground,” said Chris Shelton. “Luckily about 10 seconds after I got outside the police were here.”

Anthony was known in the community as a local veterinarian.

Detectives spent several hours at the scene gathering evidence.

“It’s shocking because it’s a great neighborhood. Never had anything like this happen before,” Shelton remarked.
