MOUNT OLIVET, KY. (THECOUNT) — In a disturbing case out of Kentucky, 32-year-old Torilena May Fields has been arrested and charged with the murder and dismemberment of her mother, Trudy Fields. The shocking crime was uncovered last week when Kentucky State Police (KSP) were called to a home on Brierly Ridge Road, where the gruesome remains of Trudy Fields were found outside the house and inside the kitchen.

According to reports, charred body parts were discovered in a stainless steel pot inside the oven, which was “still warm to the touch” when authorities arrived. The rest of Trudy’s dismembered body was found behind the house, with her arms, legs, and head removed. Nearby, a blood-soaked mattress, folded in half, contained additional severed body parts and organs.
The horrific nature of the crime has shocked the local community and left the victim’s family grappling with the tragedy. Torilena Fields was initially charged with murder, but new charges have since been added, including abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, obstruction of governmental operations, and the torture of a dog.
Torilena was due to appear in court on Monday for arraignment but was absent because she had not yet been served with the new indictment.
Details of the Crime
The state medical examiner is still working to confirm the identity of the body, but the indictment accuses Torilena of fatally shooting her mother and then stabbing her multiple times before dismembering her. Two contractors who had been hired by Trudy to perform work on the property alerted authorities after no one answered the door when they knocked.
Troopers said the contractors had seen Trudy the day before and noted that Torilena had been acting erratically. They claimed she had been “casting spells” and acting confrontational.
“Witchcraft, fingernails and just doing different stuff. Whatever witchcraft is but I heard she was into it, yeah,” said Todd Brock, Trudy’s brother, to local news station WCPO. He speculated that Torilena had lost control of her mind, possibly due to satanism or other disturbing influences.
Torilena’s Background and Mental Health Concerns
Family members of both Torilena and Trudy are struggling to come to terms with the shocking crime. Olivia Brock, Trudy’s niece, described Torilena as a talented athlete and artist who had moved to California to pursue an acting career. While there, she had some success in landing roles in low-budget films. However, her life took a turn after she suffered a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle accident a few months ago.
According to Olivia, the injury left Torilena disoriented, often unable to remember her own name or where she was. Despite efforts from people in California to help her, it was Trudy who stepped in to try and support her daughter.
“I guess there were people trying to get her help down there but just couldn’t get it done,” Olivia explained. “That’s when Trudy stepped in to help.”
Family Struggles to Cope
The shocking death has left the family reeling. Olivia expressed the complex emotions the family is experiencing, saying they are both angry and deeply saddened. “Obviously everybody’s angry and confused as to why but how do you say, ‘I’m so sad and I want justice for my family member, but I’m so sad because is my other family member not OK?’” she said.
Despite the horrific nature of the alleged crime, the family has expressed their love for Torilena. Todd Brock, Trudy’s brother, said they won’t stop loving her. “We don’t disown people, no matter what you’ve done. We love, and that’s what God says,” said Trudy’s sister, Diana Brock. “You know, you love no matter what, unconditionally, and we just support the family, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Legal Proceedings and Bond
Torilena Fields remains in custody with a bond set at $1.5 million by a Harrison County judge. The investigation is ongoing, with KSP, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office involved in the case.
