BOSTON, MA. (THECOUNT) — A Jane’s Addiction concert in Massachusetts took a chaotic turn on Friday night when frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro got into a heated altercation on stage.
The incident occurred during the band’s performance at Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, with Navarro delivering an electric guitar solo when Farrell appeared to lose his temper. Farrell was seen angrily addressing the crowd through the mic before walking over to Navarro and physically confronting him.
Witnesses at the concert reported seeing Farrell body-check Navarro and then getting into his face. The tension quickly escalated as Farrell threw a punch, which appeared to connect with Navarro and possibly his guitar.
Video footage of the incident, obtained by TMZ, shows the altercation being broken up by a man on stage, with several road crew members pulling Farrell away from Navarro. Concertgoers said the conflict seemed to have been brewing throughout the night, with reports that while Farrell’s voice was performing well, he repeatedly sang the same verses over again, frustrating the rest of the band.
No official comments have been made by Jane’s Addiction or their representatives regarding the onstage scuffle.
The band, known for its contributions to the alternative rock scene and the creation of the Lollapalooza music festival, has not yet clarified whether this will affect future performances.
