TOWN OF SUPERIOR, WI. (THECOUNT) — A tragic accident claimed the life of 34-year-old Esko, Minnesota, resident Ryan VanPuymbrouck on Monday. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, VanPuymbrouck was traveling south on the 4600 block of South Darrow Road, in Superior, Wisconsin, when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting him in the process.
The crash was reported just before 3 p.m. by a passing motorist who noticed the debris and crash site, promptly alerting 911 dispatchers. Despite the swift response, VanPuymbrouck was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
