CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Luther Hezzie Tyner, of Red Springs, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday motorcycle crash in Cumberland County.
Tyner, 33, was killed, and his passenger, 24-year-old Shanna Throckmorton of Dunn, was injured in a multi-vehicle motorcycle crash in Fayetteville on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, Tyner was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Raeford Road near Two Bale Lane, when the bike came into rear-end contact with a Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by Michael Beasley, 60, of Raeford.
Tyner was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Throckmorton was transported in in stable condition.
A second involved Harley, operated by Daniel Felix, 34, of Fayetteville, also came into contact with the pickup but was able to maintain control.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
