CHATHAM COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Colleen Mond, of Savannah, Georgia, has been identified as the suspected DUI driver arrested following a Thursday night fatal crash in Chatham County.
Mond, 43, was arrested after fatally striking a motorcycle in downtown Savannah Thursday night.
According to officials, Mond was operating a vehicle impaired near East President Street and Truman Parkway in Downtown Savannah, when the vehicle came into a motorcycle around 9 p.m. Thursday.
The rider was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Mond was arrested and charged with DUI, homicide by vehicle, and failure to yield to right of way.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
