LABETTE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Colton James Bond, of Edna, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night triple-fatal vehicle crash in Labette County, Kansas.
Colton Bond, 21, and family members, 81-year-old Jimmy Bond and 79-year-old Barbara Bond, were all killed near Coffeeville Friday night in a collision involving a Steer in the roadway.
According to reports, the family were traveling in a Dodge Ram pickup truck on US-166 about 6 mile east of Coffeeville, when the vehicle came into contact with a steer in the roadway around 11:46 p.m. Friday. The pickup then crossed centerlines before coming into head-on contact with a semi-tractor.
The family was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the wreck.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
