GREENE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — James J. Brackney Sr., of Springfield, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal motorcycle crash involving a deer in Greene County.
Brackney, 53, was killed, and his passenger seriously injured, in an early Wednesday morning motorcycle collision involving an animal in the roadway near Springfield.
According to reports, Brackney was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Farm Road 141 near Springfield, when the bike came into contact with a deer around midnight. Brackney and his passenger were both ejected from the bike during the wreck.
Brackney was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
His passenger was transported to an area hospital to be treated for serious unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
