GULF COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — TJ Jenkins and Andrew Sheppard have been identified as the Florida teens killed in a vehicle crash in Gulf County late Saturday night.
Sheppard, 18 and 16-year-old Jenkins, were both killed in a single-vehicle crash in Port Saint Joe Saturday night.
According to reports, Sheppard was operating a vehicle on CR-386, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway. The vehicle then entered a culvert before going airborne.
Both teens were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Port St. Joe Junior Senior High wrote the following on the deaths:
“The faculty and staff of Port St. Joe High School wish to extend our thoughts and prayers to the families of student-athletes TJ Jenkins and Andrew Sheppard. This is a tragic loss for the Port St. Joe community and our Tigershark family. Our doors will be open at noon today to provide a place of gathering to love on our students and to remember these young men. Coaches, school counselors, and staff will be available for students and family members who may need our support.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
