QUEENS, NY. (THECOUNT) — Fortune Williams has been identified as the teenage BMW passenger killed in a Wednesday night vehicle crash involving a UPS truck in Queens.
Williams, 14, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday night involving a delivery truck and a semi-tractor. A pedestrian was also injured in the collision.
According to reports, a male, 16, was operating a red BMW sedan at a high rate of speed on North Conduit Avenue near 160th Street, when the vehicle came into rear-end contact with a UPS truck around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday. The BMW then came into contact with a pedestrian who was attempting to enter the semi-tractor.
Williams, who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The teen driver of the BMW was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and remained at the scene.
Shocking video taken from the scene of the wreck before first responder arrived showed the young girl laying in the middle of the roadway. A male youth could be seen sitting on the curb using a cell phone.
No arrests have been made.
