JEFFERSON COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Trent “TJ” Taylor, of Pikeville, Kentucky, has been identified as the Shively Animal Clinic & Hospital employee fatally shot by a customer on Sunday night.
Taylor, 21, was working at the clinic when he was fatally shot by a woman refusing to pay for veterinarian services Sunday night in Louisville.
According to multiple social media postings, Taylor was on the job at the clinic, located at 2401 Dixie Highway in Louisville, when a female customer arrived to pick up her dog around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. At some point, the woman, who refused to pay for the services, opened fire striking Taylor.
The suspect, who has not been officially identified, then fled the scene with the animal.
Taylor was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Authorities confirmed the death was being treated as a homicide.
Shively Police Sergeant Jordan Brown said all parties had been accounted for on Sunday.
