ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Ben William Coffin Jr., of Roscommon, Michigan, has been identified as the driver killed along with two 73 year olds Friday in Roscommon County.
Coffin, 36 and John and Regina Leline, of Roscommon, were all killed in a Friday morning crash in Higgins Township.
According to reports, Coffin was operating a BMW sedan on Roscommon Road near Robinson Lake Road near Roscommon, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 10 a.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Kia occupied by the husband and wife.
The Lelines were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Coffin was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
