YAZOO COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Robert Hamil, of Madison, Kentucky, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Thursday fatal vehicle strike in Yazoo County.
Hamil, 27, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Benton early Thursday morning.
According to reports, Hamil exited a vehicle to change a tire on Highway 16 near Vaughan Road, when he was struck by a passing Ford Focus around 12: 11 a.m. Thursday.
Hamil was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
It is unclear if anyone was cited at the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
