A post on the school’s Facebook, that has since been scrubbed, indicated that Hale earned at least one award for strong academic performance.

The dead have been identified as:

Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9
William Kinney, 9
Hallie Scruggs, 9
Mike Hill, 61 (custodian)
Katherine Koonce, 60 (head of school)
Cynthia Peak, 61 (substitute teacher)

Hallie Scruggs was the daughter of Chad Scruggs, the lead pastor at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, according to a statement released by a Presbyterian Church in Dallas where the elder Scruggs had served as an associate pastor.

Metro Nashville Police released footage of Hale entering a Christian elementary school armed Monday morning, moments before three children and three staff members were killed.

Hale reached out to Averianna Patton, a former basketball teammate moments before committing the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville:

Patton said she called the Nashville Davidson County Sheriff’s Office at 10:13 a.m. to make them aware of the situation and was instructed to call Nashville’s non-emergency number.

“I called Nashville’s non-emergency line at 10:14 a.m. and was on hold for nearly seven minutes before speaking with someone who said that they would send an officer to my home. An officer did not come to my home until 3:29 p.m.,” Patton said.
