DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Eric Contreras has been identified as the teenage victim in a fatal Friday night shooting in Davidson County, Tennessee.

Contreras, 19, was fatally shot, and his pregnant girlfriend, Alena Dean, 18, was injured, in a shooting in Nashville Friday night. Kevin Rivera, 19, has been identified as the alleged shooter.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 4700 block of McBride Road in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville around 8:35 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, Contreras and Dean were found inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Contreras was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Dean was also transported with gunshot injuries and is expected to survive. No word on the condition of her unborn child.

Rivera was arrested around 5 a.m. Saturday morning on Farmingdale Drive in La Vergne. He was charged with criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide.

No motive information was provided by officials.

The investigation is ongoing.
