BENTON COUNTY, WA. (THECOUNT) — Jacob Michael Schouten, of Pasco, Washington, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday evening fatal motorcycle crash in Benton County.
Schouten, 41, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Kennewick Saturday evening. Charges are pending against the driver of the involved vehicle.
According to reports, Schouten was operating a motorcycle on State Route 397 near Gum Street in Kennewick, when an SUV, operated by a Kennewick man, failed to yield the right of way and came into contact with the bike around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Schouten, who had ties to Hermiston, Oregon, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The SUV driver was not identified as of Monday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
