BROWN COUNTY, WI. (THECOUNT) — Dennis Doxtater Jr., of green Bay, Wisconsin, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday apparent drowning in Brown County.
The body of “Bear” Doxtater, 47, was pulled from the East River on Saturday morning.
The police department’s dive team recovered Doxtater’s body Saturday morning. A passerby reported seeing a backpack near a hole in the ice by a footbridge at about 6 a.m. Saturday.
Police found the body almost 4 hours later, just before 10:15 a.m.
Doxtater was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say their initial investigation doesn’t suggest foul play.
The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
