CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Myra Littlejohn Davidson, of Gaffney, South Carolina, has been identified as the woman fatally shot in an apparent murder-Suicide Wednesday in Cherokee County. Dock Theodore Hopper, of Gaffney, has been identified as the deceased shooter.
Davidson, 47, was shot dead by 55-year-old Hopper at the Timken Co Plant in Gaffney Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Davidson arrived at the facility when she was confronted by Hopper around 7 a.m. Wednesday. At some point, Hopper shot Davidson multiple times before turning the gun on himself.
Davidson was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Davidson and Hopper had dated prior to ending their relationship, according to reports.
Autopsies are set to be performed as part of the investigation.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler has now released a report confirming the incident was a murder-suicide.
