OH Man George Michael Jordan ID’d As Pedestrian In Sunday Cincinnati Fatal Vehicle Strike

HAMILTON COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — George Michael Jordan, of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Sunday night fatal vehicle strike in Hamilton County. Matthew Hayden, 42, of Cincinnati, has been identified as the involved driver.

Jordan, 62, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that also injured 71-year-old Charlie Harris and a young child on Sunday night.

According to reports, Hayden was operating a Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 75 near Hopple Street in Cincinnati, when he exited the roadway and collided with a stopped Chevrolet Cobalt occupied by Harris and a 7-year-old child around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The force of the crash caused the Cobalt to strike a stopped transit van and Jordan, who was on-foot.

Hayden’s vehicle then collided with an Infiniti Q70L.

Jordan was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

Harris was transported to an area hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition. His child passenger was also transported to a hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.

Hayden was uninjured in the crash.

Police say excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as contributing factors.
