CENTRE COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Derrick Hofmann, Prospect, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the teenage victim in a Sunday fatal vehicle collision in Centre County.
Hofmann, 17, was killed – and four other individuals were injured – in the single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Liberty Township.
According to reports, Hofmann was traveling in a vehicle on the 2100 block of Mercer-Butler Pike near Amsterdam Road in Grove City, when the vehicle exited the roadway and rolled over around 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
Hofmann, who was a rear passenger, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The driver and another passenger were life-flighted to an area hospital in Ohio with life-threatening injuries.
Two other passengers were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
