Don Shane Retired Detroit Channel 7 News Sportscaster Dead At 70

DETROIT, MI. (THECOUNT) — Don Shane, perhaps best known as the longtime sportscaster at Detroit WXYZ Channel 7 News, has died. He was 70.

Shane, who retired from the sports anchor desk in 2012, worked at WDIV prior to joining WXYZ in 1989, where he spent 23 years.

A cause of death was not provided.
