HARTFORD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Joseph Louis Johnson Jr., of Manchester, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Friday fatal vehicle crash in Hartford County.
Johnson, 25, was killed in a violent single-vehicle crash in Hartford early Friday morning.
According to reports, Johnson was operating a Chevrolet Impala on CT-5 near Exit 86, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and entered the left shoulder before making contact with a concrete barrier around 2:17 a.m. Friday. The vehicle then crossed to the right of the roadway before colliding with a metal beam guardrail. The vehicle came to a rest after coming into contact with a tree and traveling down an embankment.
Johnson was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Johnson was the sole person in the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
