HAMPDEN COUNTY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Yaseri Cortes, of Springfield, Massachusetts, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday night Hampden County hit-and-run vehicle crash.
Cortes, 20, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Springfield Sunday night.
According to reports, Cortes was operating a vehicle on Interstate 91 near Exit 48 in Springfield, when a second vehicle collided with Cortes’ vehicle causing it to crash.
The second involved vehicle then fled the scene around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
Cortes was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
