DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Kelly Smith, of White Bluff, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday double-fatal vehicle crash in Davidson County.
Smith, 24, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Nashville early Sunday morning. The driver of the other involved vehicle also died in the crash.
According to reports, Smith was operating a Nissan Rogue on Nolensville Pike near Winston Avenue West in Nashville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes early Sunday morning. The vehicle then came into contact with a Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 31-year-old Nashville man.
The Jeep driver was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Smith was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
Police are still attempting to notify the Jeep driver’s next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
