KERSHAW COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Angelymar “Angie” Morrison, of Elgin, South Carolina, has been identified as the mother fatally stabbed by her newly adopted teenage son, “Freddie,” one week after the adoption had become official. Morrison’s husband was also stabbed Monday night in the Kershaw County attack but thankfully survived.

Morrison, 41, and her husband, were both stabbed at their residence one week after Morrison proudly posted about the adoption of 15-year-old Freddie being finalized. It would be her final Facebook post.

According to reports, the attack occurred at the couple’s home at 1484 McGee Court in Elgin on Monday night. Morrison was killed in the attack while her husband suffered multiple knife wounds. He was treated and released from an area hospital.

Police say Freddie had been living with the couple since December 2021.

The teen is charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
