JEWELL COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Elliott Whiteside, of Tryon, North Carolina, has been identified as the driver in a Saturday night fatal vehicle crash in Jewell Count, Kansas.
Whiteside, 18, was involved a single-vehicle crash in Mankato Saturday night.
According to reports, Whiteside was operating in a Toyota 4Runner in Mankato, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway, went airborne and came into contact with a tree before midnight Saturday.
Whiteside’s passenger was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
