DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Alexander “AJ” Locum, of Omaha, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday morning fatal vehicle crash in Douglas County.

Locum, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Omaha early Thursday morning.

According to reports, Locum was operating a Nissan Murano on South 151st Avenue near Z Street in Millard, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and made contact with a tree around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Locum was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

Locum was a 2019 graduate of Millard South High School, where he played on the basketball and baseball teams. He attended Morningside University, where he played baseball. He recently transferred to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he was taking classes to finish his degree, reports Omaha.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
