LABETTE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Valerie Montgomery, of Parsons, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night double-fatal vehicle crash in Labette County.
Vali Montgomery, 30, was killed in a Monday night crash that also took the life of a child near Parsons.
According to reports, Montgomery was operating a Buick Park Avenue on US Route 400 west of Parsons, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and came into head-on contact with a Chevy Silverado pickup truck around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Montgomery and her small child were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the wreck.
The 41-year-old Thayer Silverado driver was treated for minor injuries. His 33-year-old female passenger was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
