HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, NH. (THECOUNT) — Shawn Croteau, of Newbury, New Hampshire, the man suspected in a the Hillsborough County fatal hit-and-run of Manchester man, 35-year-old Michael “Maka” Vigneault, was found dead on Friday.

Vigneault, who was transported to an area hospital after being struck by an SUV in Manchester on Sunday morning, passed away of injuries suffered in the collision on Friday. Croteau, 59, was found dead, authorities announced on Friday.

According to reports, Vigneault was on-foot in the area of Union Street near Merrimack street in Manchester, when he was struck by an SUV that then fled the scene around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

At some point in the investigation, Croteau was identified as the suspected driver. No further details were provided on how Croteau died.

Vigneault died Friday of injuries suffered in the Sunday collision.

The case remains under investigation.
