CLARKE COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Devin Willock, of New Milford, New Jersey, and Chandler LeCroy, of Athens, Georgia, have been identified as the victims in a Sunday double-fatal vehicle crash in Clarke County, Georgia.

Willock, 20, and 24-year-old LeCroy, were both killed in an early Sunday morning single-vehicle crash in Athens. A 21-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were injured in the wreck.

According to reports, a Ford Expedition was traveling on Barnett Shoals Road in Athens, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 2:45 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then came into contact with multiple utility poles and a grouping of trees.

Willock was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

LeCroy, who was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

Two other passengers were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Willock was a University of Georgia offensive lineman and LeCroy was a recruiting staff member for the school.

“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy,” the university statement said. “Devin and Chandler were two special people who meant so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and our athletic department. We ask that everyone keep their families in your prayers during this very difficult time.”

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
