GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Betty Diane Amick, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim fatally shot inside a vehicle Saturday in Greenville County. 26-year-old Jonathan Brock Luben was arrested and charged with her murder.

Luben, 26, was arrested following a shooting that killed 76-year-old Amick in Taylors Saturday evening.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call of shots fired at the intersection of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Edwards Mill Road in Taylors around 4 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, Amick was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds while seated in a vehicle.

Amick was pronounced dead was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Luben is accused of shooting into an occupied vehicle, fatally striking Amick. He was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center with no bond.

Attempted Murder
Possession Of A Weapon During A Violent Crime
Assault/Battery

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
