CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Joseph Mastranduono Jr., 44, has been identified as the suspect charged with aggravated manslaughter in the death of his 75-year-old father, Joseph Mastranduono Sr., following an early Friday morning altercation at a Camden County, New Jersey home.

Mastranduono Sr., was killed in his Winslow Township residence following a dispute with his namesake son, Joey Mastranduono.

According to reports, police responded to a home at 2 Kresson Court in Berlin around 3:15 a.m. on a call of a dispute between family members. When they arrived, Mastranduono Sr. was found unresponsive.

Mastranduono Sr. was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A cause of death was not provided by officials.

Mastranduono Jr. was also transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators later charged Mastranduono Jr. with aggravated manslaughter in the first degree.

Under New Jersey state law, aggravated manslaughter is a first-degree crime defined as recklessly causing another’s death “under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life” or while fleeing law enforcement.

The younger Mastranduono will be transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility once he is discharged from the hospital, authorities said.
