TRAVIS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — The body of missing Texas A&M University student Tanner Hoang was found on Saturday afternoon in Travis County, Texas. Hoang, 22, had been reported missing by family members over a week ago.
According to reports, Hoang’s family showed up to a pre-graduation luncheon, however, Hoang did not. It would later be learned that Hoang did not qualify to graduate. His family attended to ceremony hoping to see him walk the aisle.
A spokesperson with the College Station Police Department said Hoang’s body was located on Saturday near Pennybacker Bridge in Austin. A cause of death was not provided, however, foul play has been ruled out.
On Dec. 23, it was reported that Hoang’s car was located near the hiking trail leading to the Pennybacker Bridge in Austin. At that point, authorities continued their search.
The student was last seen on the morning of Dec. 16.
Hoang was studying mechanical engineering at Texas A&M.
