HENDERSON COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Madison Crawford has been identified as the senior student at North Henderson High School killed in a Thursday vehicle crash in Henderson County, North Carolina.
Maddy Crawford, 17, was killed in a Thursday two-vehicle crash that injured Robert Lunsford, 18, and 17-year-old Kimisa Buchanan.
According to reports, a Dodge Dakota pickup truck was traveling on Terrys Gap Road in Fletcher, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Ford Ranger pickup truck.
Crawford, a passenger in the Ford, died of injuries suffered in the wreck.
Lunsford, who was operating the Ford, and passenger Buchanan, were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The condition of the Dodge driver was not provided.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
