TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Janice Diane Pellegrin and John Bitter, both of Covington, Louisiana, have been identified as the victims in a Tuesday morning double-fatal vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish.
Pellegrin, 64, and 67-year-old Bitter, were both killed in a single-vehicle crash in Loranger Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Bitter was operating a Nissan Sentra on LA-40 near LA-445 in Loranger, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 4 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came into contact with a tree.
Pellegrin was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
Bitter was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
