POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Alexis Brianna Ward, of Topeka, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday fatal vehicle crash in Pottawatomie County.
Ward, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in St. Marys Sunday morning.
According to reports, Ward was operating a vehicle on Highway 24 near Pleasant View Road in St. Marys, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle overcorrected, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 6 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then rolled over.
Ward, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
