Aaron LaMore GoFundMe: Dad Who Died While Helping Daughter’s Girl Scout Troop

WILL COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Aaron LaMore GoFundMe.

Aaron LaMore, of New Lenox, Illinois, has been identified as the father who died five days after suffering a freak accident while helping his 12-year-old daughter Mia gather food donations for her Girl Scout Troop in Will County.

LaMore, 45, was riding in the open hatchback of a vehicle when he fell out backward and hit his head on the pavement on Nov. 6. He died 5 days later in the hospital.

The vehicle was reportedly going about five miles an hour when LaMore lost his footing and fell out and onto the street.

LaMore, an Army veteran, was transported to an area hospital after suffering multiple skull fractures in the fall. Doctors found swelling around his skull and bleeding from the brain.

LaMore succumbed to his injuries 5 days later.

He leaves behind his wife Erin and their daughter Mia.

On Sunday, November 6th, the LaMore family’s life would change forever. On this beautiful fall day, Aaron and his family set out to collect food items for their daughter’s girl scout troop. Tragically, Aaron fell from his vehicle and fractured his skull. As emergency personal arrived on scene, Aaron worked up the strength to pick himself off of the ground and walk into the ambulance.

Aaron was transported to Silver Cross Hospital for a CT scan, but with his condition rapidly declining, doctors determined he needed specialized care at the University of Chicago Hospital. While waiting on transportation, Aaron went into cardiac arrest for four minutes. Immediately following, he was airlifted to the University of Chicago, and doctors did all they could.

Aaron succumbed to his injuries and passed away late Friday, November 11th, Veteran’s Day. Aaron was a veteran and and an organ donor. The University of Chicago held a Hero’s Walk in his honor as he saved multiple lives that day with his donation. He will forever be a hero and champion.

Aaron leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Erin, and their 12-year-old daughter, Mia. Donations to this fundraiser will assist Erin with expenses, medical bills, and Mia’s future schooling.
