HARTFORD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Lucas James Vernale, of Berlin, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday morning fatal vehicle crash in Hartford County.
Vernale, 24, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Hartford early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Vernale was operating a Ford Fusion on Capitol Avenue near Laurel Street in Hartford, when the vehicle came into contact with a Nissan Rogue around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.
The Rogue driver suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Vernale was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
