OREGON COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Robert Dalton Widding, of Doniphan, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal vehicle crash in Oregon County.
Widding, 24, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Doniphan early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Widding was operating a vehicle on Highway 142 east of Thayer, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then came into contact with an embankment before colliding with a grouping of trees.
Widding, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
