GoFundMe For Victim In Saturday Wildwood NJ Double-Fatal H20i Car Rally Crash

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Lindsay Weakland, of Carlisle, New Jersey, and Timothy Ogden, of Clayton, New Jersey, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal crash during a so-called pop-up car rally in Cape May County on Saturday night.

Weakland, 18, a pedestrian, and 34-year-old Ogden, a driver, were both killed after they were struck by a vehicle participating in the large pop-up car rally known as H20i or H2022. Gerald White, 37, of Pittsburgh, has been identified as the driver arrested in the fatal crash that occurred at a Wildwood Park in New Jersey on Saturday night.

According to reports, police responded to a call of a multi-vehicle crash at East Burk Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood on Saturday around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, police found Weakland suffering injuries after being struck by a vehicle while on-foot. Ogden, who was operating a vehicle, was also found suffering injuries in his crashed vehicle.

Weakland was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene. Ogden was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced of injuries suffered in the crash.

White was taken into custody and charged with two counts of second-degree death by auto, two counts of assault by auto, eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, and violation of laws to protect public safety. He was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending Court proceedings.

White remained in Cape May County jail pending court proceedings, according to a statement released by Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto.
