WINNEBAGO COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Jericho Porter, of Pecatonica, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash involving a school bus in Winnebago County on Monday.

Porter, 20, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a Winnebago School District bus on Monday morning.

According to reports, a 17-year-old male from Pecatonica was operating a Chevrolet Cruze on U.S. Route 20, east of Winnebago, when the vehicle came into rear-end contact with a school bus around 7 a.m. Monday.

Porter, a passenger in the Chevy, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

The bus driver, a 73-year-old man, was uninjured.

The 17-year-old driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
