TX Women Brenda Oyervides & Lenisha Simon ID’d As Victims In Thursday VA Double-Fatal Winnebago Crash

FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Lenisha Tashave Simon and Brenda Marie Oyervides, of Houston, Texas, have been identified as the victims in a Thursday night fatal Winnebago RV crash in Fauquier County, Virginia.

Simon, 39, and 24-year-old Oyervides, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor and a recreational vehicle, operated by Ifreke E. Inyang, 25, of Houston.

According to reports, the woman were traveling as passengers in an RV operated by Inyang, when the RV came into rear-end contact with a big-rig on Interstate 66 near Mile Marker 16 in Markham, Virginia around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The Winnebago then exited the roadway, crashed through a guardrail and traveled down an embankment before coming into contact with a grouping of trees.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

A 23-year-old female passenger of the RV suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Four other passengers were transported with minor injuries.

Inyang was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was charged with reckless driving and for driving without a valid operator’s license, state police said Friday.

Inyang was the only person in the RV wearing a seatbelt, according to officials.

The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
