WELD COUNTY, CO. (THECOUNT) — Marcos Vallejos, of Greeley, Colorado, has been identified as the suspect in a grisly sex assault and murder of a young woman working at NOCO Nutrition in Weld County on Friday.

Vallejos, 24, who had been arrested in Weld County at least twice in the past year – first on suspicion of second-degree burglary and criminal mischief in November 2021 and again on warrants three months later – was booked into the Weld County Jail on first-degree murder and sexual assault charges in connection to the murder of the 22-year-old NOCO Nutrition clerk Friday night.

According to reports, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at NOCO Nutrition, 1990 59th Avenue in Greeley around at 7:56 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found the business had been broken into and the employee who was supposed to close the business was missing. They also discovered what appeared to be a large amount of blood.

The employee’s vehicle which was missing was later located at 10:34 p.m. near 20th Street and 71st Avenue. The young woman was then found deceased in the back of the vehicle.

The victim has only been publicly identified as “Angie.”
