NEW HAVEN COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Zachary James Carlson, of Danbury, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night fatal vehicle crash in New Haven County.
Carlson, 20, a Danbury tow truck driver, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor Thursday night in Waterbury.
According to reports, Carlson was operating a Chevrolet Silverado medium-duty tow truck on Interstate 84 near Exit 23, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Carlson was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The 62-year-old Massachusetts operator of the semi was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
