BELL COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Jesse Robert Cruz, of Killeen, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday fatal motorcycle crash and subsequent hit-and-run vehicle collision in Bell County.
Cruz, 23, was killed following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash and suspected hit-and-run early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Cruz was operating a motorcycle on Mohawk Drive near South Clear Creek Road in Killeen, when for unknown reasons, the bike went down around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Cruz was ejected from the bike onto the roadway. At some point, a passing vehicle ran over Cruz and fled the scene.
Cruz, an active duty soldier, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Investigators are seeking for a gray in color pickup truck with major undercarriage damage.
