SPOKANE COUNTY, WA. (THECOUNT) — Gaige Lavoy, of Deer Park, Washington, has been identified as the victim killed in a Saturday wrong-way crash in Spokane County.

Lavoy, 21, was killed in an Interstate 90 wrong-way crash early Saturday morning. Cynthia Macy, 63, of Spokane, has been identified as the wrong-way driver.

According to reports, “Cindy” Macy was operating a Dodge Dakota the wrong-way on Interstate 90 near Spokane International Airport, when the vehicle came into contact with a Fiat 500 operated by Lavoy just after midnight Saturday. The Dakota also came into contact with a Nissan Xterra which was traveling behind the Fiat.

Lavoy was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.

Macy was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. She is facing charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Troopers also suspect her of driving impaired.

The Nissan driver and a female passenger in Lavoy’s vehicle also suffered unknown injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
