JEFFERSON COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Brett Van Sant, of Gouverneur, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal motorcycle crash in Jefferson County.
Van Sant, 55, was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Theresa Monday afternoon.
According to reports, Van Sant was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle near 31519 County Road 22 in Theresa, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Monday afternoon. The bike then traveled down an embankment ejecting the rider.
Van Sant was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
