FULTON COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Sergeant Jean-Harold Louis Astree, of Douglasville, Georgia, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday fatal multi-vehicle crash in Fulton County.
Astree, 54, a Fairburn Police Department Sergeant, was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Douglasville Thursday morning.
According to reports, Astree was operating an unmarked Fairburn Police Department Dodge Charger on Capps Ferry Rd near Highway 166 in Douglasville, when the vehicle came into contact a GMC Dually pickup truck and an Audi SUV around 8 a.m. Thursday. The Charger then traveled into opposing lanes where it struck a GMC pickup truck head-on.
Astree was killed in the crash.
Other involved individuals were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.
Astree had been employed with Fairburn since April 2018 and worked with the city previously in 2011. He also served in the military and was a United States Air Force veteran.
He leaves behind a wife and children.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
