HENRY COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Melissa Ann Key, of Martinsville, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday morning fatal vehicle crash in Henry County.
Key, 41, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Martinsville Sunday morning.
According to reports, Key was traveling as a passenger in a Dodge R1500 pickup truck on Beaver Creek Drive in Martinsville, when for unknown reasons, the pickup crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then came into contact with a grouping of trees.
Key died in the crash. It is unknown if anyone else was injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
