CLARK COUNTY, WA. (THECOUNT) — Edwin X. Chicas Jr., of Camby, Oregon, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday fatal vehicle crash in Clark County, Washington.
Chicas, 31, was killed in a three-vehicle collision involving a semi-tractor in Vancouver early Sunday morning.
According to reports, Chicas was operating a BMW passenger vehicle on Interstate 205 near the Mill Plain Boulevard Exit in Vancouver, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle rear-ended a big-rig, operated by David Porter, 59, of Chehalis, Washington, around 3 a.m. Sunday. The BMW then rolled over before it was struck by a compact pickup truck operated by Dagoberto Vargas Perez, 35, of Vancouver.
The truck drivers were uninjured in the crash.
Chicas was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
